Suffolk Construction, the contractor for the South Station Air Rights Project, will continue daytime and overnight construction at South Station.
Please allow extra time (5 – 10 minutes) as you get used to new construction zones and paths of travel at the station. Trains might arrive and depart on a different track than what is typical. Be sure to check your track number before boarding.

ACTIVITY RELATING TO THE OVERBUILD STRUCTURE
The overbuild structure supports the expanded bus terminal and currently covers Tracks 1-13.
Building enclosure work and interior fit out of the overbuild structure continues above the track level.
Crews continue night work in the railyard to install support for the platform lighting, PA, and Variable Messaging System, electrical conduit, along with track ventilation hoods between various tracks. Crews are also installing insulation and metal panels in the railyard on weekends. This work may modify paths of travel at the ends of tracks during overnight hours.
TRACK 13 WORK ZONE ACTIVITY
Crews continue metal panel installation, concrete column enclosure work, and platform lighting and PA installation at Track 13. Due to this work, Track 13 is occasionally out of service at night along with minor service impacts during the day.
Upcoming Activity in TOWER WORK ZONE and Atlantic Avenue
In the coming weeks, a work zone will be placed in front of Tracks 5 & 6 to allow for construction of the elevator shafts between the new South Station Concourse and Bus Terminal. This work zone will remain in place for the duration of the project. Access to Tracks 5 & 6 will be maintained.
Additionally, stairway and ramp access between the station concourse and Atlantic Avenue will be restricted in the coming weeks to construct a new permanent ramp and stairway. This work zone expansion will remain in place for approximately 3 to 4 months. For accessible access to Atlantic Avenue, please utilize the Track 1 platform towards the Bus Terminal or the South Station Train Terminal.
In the Tower Work Zone, crews continue to construct the tower superstructure and install the glass curtain wall on the exterior of the tower.
SUMMER STREET PLAZA ACTIVITY
Work in Summer Street Plaza continues behind construction barriers. This area serves as the main access point for Tower Work Zone construction. A uniformed police officer is stationed when the gate is in use.
ATLANTIC AVENUE WORK ZONE ACTIVITY
Crews continue to construct the remaining components of the building enclosure and foundations within the Atlantic Avenue Work Zone.
Eversource is performing daytime work outside the Atlantic Avenue Work Zone, which may modify pedestrian paths of travel around the site.
REMINDERS
Pedestrian travel routes will be maintained and clearly delineated at all times. There will be access to CharlieCard validators used for the Fairmount Line.
Commuters traveling between the South Station Concourse and the South Station Bus Terminal are encouraged to use the Platform A walkway adjacent to Track 1 to bypass the Atlantic Avenue Work Zone.
