We are pleased to share that the new, expanded South Station Bus Terminal opened to the public yesterday, November 4. This expansion has increased the capacity of the Bus Terminal by 50%.
Please note that the contractor is still completing construction on the new elevators, escalators and stairs that will connect the Bus Terminal to the South Station train platform. At present, travelers should use the main entrance and exit to the Bus Terminal off Atlantic Avenue or the entrance by Track 1 to access the terminal.

NEW GATE ASSIGNMENTS
With the opening of the expanded Bus Terminal, the bus gate numbering has been reconfigured. The diagram below shows the new bus gate numbering system in blue, with the old bus gate numbers in red.

There are also new bus gate assignments for many of the bus providers (see graphic below).
Please allow extra time (5 – 10 minutes) as you get used to new construction zones and paths of travel at the station. Trains might arrive and depart on a different track than what is typical. Be sure to check your track number before boarding.
